Egbert is a unique name. The name of my maternal grandfather. A grandfather of whom we spoke little. No real mystery except that he suffered from one or more mental illnesses which, back then, were rarely diagnosed and treated, if there had been treatment.
I have very few memories of him and fewer objects which he owned. These spectacles are one of those. I love the design the shadows make and the warm color of the cloth upon which they lay.
