Art Lovers Sunday at Pybus

 

 "Creekside Cadence" was done yesterday during the 2nd Art Lovers Sunday

at Pybus Public Market in Wenatchee. You can see the block-in below and

then below that you'll see the B&W of the finished piece to check values.

I worked on creating pure design, working an composition, value and color.

There were a ton of people come through on Mother's Day - lots of energy,

laughter, and questions from passers by.   9x12" pastel on UArt 280.

 

"Showoff" Finds New Home

"Showoff" an exquisite pastel painting of some of my peonies has found a new home.
During the Pybus Public Market "Art Lover's Sunday" yesterday, she went with a collector who has several of my other paintings. And I know where she lives so I can go visit.  That's the best, since sometimes it's hard to send these out into the world!

Spring Storm

I wanted to continue my Daisy series as small oils - this began with the
sketch shown below - my challenge was to keep it simple, like the sketch.
I scrubbed the little vase off a couple times, trying to keep it simple.
I love how the black defines the shape of the petals...
